J.P. Trouble
By Ryan Hill
Little Johnny Lippett and his family had moved to a new town and Little Johnny was lonely. He woke up for his first day in his new school and nothing seemed to go his way. He missed the bus and had to walk to school, it was raining, he fell in the mud and it seemed like the day was never going to get better. When Johnny was sent outside to tend to the flag Little Johnny Lippett stumbled upon a wet, little puppy. When the puppy followed little Johnny into the school the mean girls scooped him up and frightened the poor puppy.
When Little Johnny walked out of the school at the end of the day the puppy was nowhere to be found, Little Johnny Lippett was alone again, with no friends and his Mother was waiting in the car to give him a ride home.
Wow! This book was adorable and I loved the illustrations. The boys really enjoyed the book too! Bruiser felt sad when the dog was gone and the boy was sad again. The book is short and reads quickly, the pictures are very fun and full of detail keeping young children engaged.
This book can teach a variety of life lessons to children. How to love an animal, overcoming loneliness, dealing with bullies and dealing with normal hurdles that may pop up throughout the day.
The story has a very cute ending and will be sure to please!
