We have all seen the show or have watched them on various Morning shows, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have 19 kids. This book takes you behind the scenes of the show and gives you an in depth view of their lives and their beliefs. It begins by giving you some of their history and past as children and growing up, followed by how they met, fell in love, married and began their journey together. They climbed their way to where they are today by working hard and choosing to live a completely debt free life. Using their motto “buy used, save the difference” they have made wise investments and business ventures. They also go on to explain their organization methods, which as you can imagine with 19 kids, must be very structured! I love the parenting section of the book where they tell you about their strategy for discipline and obedience, the chore schedules, and their homeschooling practices. All very, very good advice. Towards the end, they start describing the adventurous 3 years or more that it took them to build and complete their own 7,000 sq.ft. house. the layout and floor plan along with the decorations and pictures. I really enjoyed this book. I have taken a lot of very good advice from this book and have already started the ball rolling on some of their practices. If it works for a family of 21, I am sure it can help my family of 6 run more smoothly too! A great read and I highly recommend it! I am sure you will enjoy this read as much as I have!
