So this afternoon was the day we celebrated my Mom’s birthday. We had barbecue ribs, coleslaw, potato salad, chips and french onion dip and cake afterward. We got a late start but it was ok, the ribs needed some extra time anyways. I hear they were very good and tender, I have to go by the word of others, since I myself do not eat ribs, but apparently I can cook some bad mamma jammas! I guess I do have a good sense of smell. Check out the Cook’s Corner page for the amazing recipe and marinade! While I was finishing up with the ribs and the kids were setting the table so began the heated

discussions. As most of us know there can never be a family get together without some sort of drama. This time it was my little sister Veronica’s high school hockey career and future. My sister Stacia who also played high school hockey was here and everyone had to discuss her future and where she should or shouldn’t be going to high school, college, etc. etc. etc. With all 3 adults having a different opinion and a 13 year old with her own opinion of course it got loud & in my opinion annoying.. hahahaha, I chimed in my 2 cents only when needed and kept to preparing dinner and the side table. When all was said and done her high school career will remain the same and we can only deal with the present and when the future gets her thats when it will be decided. blah blah blah. After dinner we relaxed for a bit and watched puppy bowl, the Kardashians, Jersey Shore, Pixar Short Films, basically flipping through channels all while trying to hold a conversation as my wild 2 year old ran wildly and loudly through the house completing 50 laps or more while screaming like a race car. I myself am very used to it and it seems second nature, I tune it out for the most part and hardly notice. Others…not so much. Sorry guys, take your ibuprofen, he is after all a free spirited kid! When it was time for cake we gathered around the table, lit candles, sang, took pictures and ate. Thank You Stacia, the cake was amazing, nice, rich and moist! Mom LOVED her gift and I hope my Husband remembers that I want one for Mother’s Day, (I will be sure to leave him a reminder closer to May, knowing her will forget). It turned out real cute! Just her style, I posted a pic at the bottom, super cute! The rest of the afternoon was spent just sitting around talking and relaxing, well in between the many freak outs and arguments taking place between MeMe, Butch and Bruiser. Bruiser has quite the temper as he needs to handle his older siblings of 10 and 8. He has quite the voice on him! Now the company has gone and Sherman is back in his office wrapping up his mid-terms and homework, Butch is playing Wii, MeMe was going to play easy bake oven with Veronica, until they realized we dont have any mix, and are now oddly enough, annoyingly standing over my shoulder reading as I type this out…stinkers! The rest of my
