Amish Grace

Amish Grace

Wow this was a VERY Slow read. The first 3 chapters were pretty good as it walks you through the story and the facts of what happened and introduces you to the Amish way of life. The book explains how and why after the shooting at a one room school house in Nickel Mines, Pennsylvania that killed 5 Amish children and injured five more, the Amish community would gather and ultimately forgive the deceased shooter and his family. Chapter four explains the Amish belief of forgiveness and what it means to them and their religion. The following chapters were very repetitive. Seemed like it basically kept saying the same thing over and over. I would recommend this book up to chapter five, after that put it away, reading the rest is a waste of time and energy, at that point you already understand why the Amish believe in forgiveness, there really is no need to say it over and over for the rest of the read. Sorry, but if you read any further than that it may bore you to sleep.
