Mother Nature is Letting Me Down..I Think She May Have a Drinking Problem!

Mother Nature is Letting Me Down..I Think She May Have a Drinking Problem!

Most of you know I live in Minnesota.

It’s winter here, at least that’s what the calendar says, but no, not this year.

Mother Nature must have missed the memo this year.

Maybe she has taken up drinking and has been too drunk to notice.

To drunk to notice temps in the high 50’s in the month of January is unheard of!

Our normal temps for the month of January are near zero, mostly somewhere below..not counting wind chill. Today we broke the all time record high steaming through with 56 degrees. Outdoor skating rinks and warm houses have been closed until further notice.
The Sherriff has been out recommending removal of the ice fishing houses on the lakes due to weather circumstances. Personally, I am appalled. I LOVE winter weather! I love the cold and the snow and the often gloomy days, I love the sound of snowplows working all night long. I love waking up to a thick blanket of snow bending the branches of our lilac bushes in a way that seems impossible by the law of physics with a heavy blanket of white.
This year Christmas came and there was no white snow, it was sad and depressing. There was no afternoon play in the snow. The kids are now back in school, vacation is over and yet the kids only had the chance of sledding twice this year. If this were a job or business, I would have fired Mother Nature for not only a lack of effort but breach of contract as well.
That being said, I thought I would share some of my favorite pictures from this Christmas. I hope you enjoy!

How was your holiday break this year? Did you capture some amazing pictures? Did you travel or do anything special?
*P.S – I hate blogger and their picture layout/upload program! I am SO sick of my pictures being all tacky and unorganized, if anyone has any tips, I would LOVE to hear them. Sorry the layout is crap, not much help from blogger for pictures.

  2. Gorgeous picture. I’m a new “friend” from blog hop. I plan on adding your hop to the list on my blog. Happy New Year to you. http://mavesfaves.blogspot.com/

  3. I’m in North Carolina and it was about 65 yesterday. Although we don’t get much snow, this unseasonably warm weather is scary.

  4. Great photos! I am now following you from the Alexa blog hop.

  5. I’m also from what the good ol’ state of
Minne-snow-ta. But it’s just Minnesota this year. I’m really missing the snow — no sledding, no snowmen, no snow forts, no outdoor skating. I just hope Mother Nature doesn’t decide to give us winter in April!
Tip on organizing your pics–right click on a photo and choose to center it or if it’s already centered, click on left or right, then re-click on center and that should center them. Hope that made sense and works for you.

  6. It’s been in the 80s here in Southern California – granted, cold for us us 60 but I’ll take it. Right before Christmas is was getting down into the high 40s and I loved it – it’s supposed to be sweater time. It’s just unnatural to contemplate running A/C in January!

  7. What I do for my pictures I don’t upload it directly to my wordpress but to picasa online then I copy and paste the link in.. you can adjust it to right/left or center then it should be where you want it to be on your post.
