Guard of Sherman House, currently on squirrel Patrol

So the past couple days have been swamped. I have been so incredibly busy with kids, trying to get over this darn cough and stuffy nose, laundry, etc. etc. MeMe stayed home from school today. She wasn’t feeling great this morning and could hardly talk. I was sleeping so Sherman decided to keep her home. With cough drops, lots of fluids and some ibuprofen she has been doing better, but I fear it’s going to get much worse, she has some pretty big bags under her eyes and she’s not quite herself today. I would love for the cough, sore throat and lack of talking to be the end of it, but I don’t believe this will be true. However, I wouldn’t mind being wrong and eating those words haha! Brody has been going through a growth spurt and wants to nurse or eat all the time, which is time consuming but it’s much better than the screaming we hear from his teething! Luckily, so far, it seems like he may be a screamer not a diaper rash baby like the other 3 were! I can deal with screaming and crying,I can’t handle the red bottoms that are rashed up and make diaper changes torture with baby crying and Sherman and I near tears for them. I am wondering how long it will take him to finally cut this tooth as he has been teething for quite some time now. Oh Well he is such a good, laid back baby. Bruiser has been having a tough week. We have started working with him more on his table manners and how he eats. Since he has been doing so well in speech it has carried over in all aspects of his life and dinners are slowly getting better! No more glasses full of milk & food mushed together! When it comes to speech,  He has been working with his speech teachers for 2 months now and you would not believe how far he has come! Therese was here on Monday and was absolutley amazed how well he is dong and told him over and over how good he is dong and to keep up the good work! They also made the family heart shaped valentines. Bruiser had so much fun! He loved it! Then she brought out the bingo dobbers to make pretty dots and he just didn’t know what to do, then finally when he understood he dobbed all over! She brought 2 different ones, but he would only use the red one because it was a teddy bear, the other was a plain one and just not cool enough. After all the dobbing and coloring it was scissor time..what SCISSORS?!!!? OMG! He is only 2 (close to 3) and I haven’t let him use scissors yet. My crazy child with scissors, um no, I’m thinking not the best idea yet. I sat and watched as his eyes doubled in size and he cut the paper. I am starting to wonder, what is a good age to introduce the use of scissors? Knowing my child I’m thinking 30 hahaha! Anyways they were adorable and we each got one, he even made one for Grandma Mitchell (which she LOVED)!
The other night our packages came from Wal-mart.com and the kids went crazy!, That includes Sherman! Butch got his Cabelas big game hunter wii game. Sherman and Butch have been having so much fun playing and trying to beat each others score, they get so competitive, it’s cute! MeMe got her Project Runway wii game and has almost worn the batteries out of the remotes she has played SO much, but she loves it and she does very well! It has 3 levels of difficulty and she has already one the season on “easy” mode! Won every competition. When she’s done I plan to give it a whirl and see how I do. She also got her 1st sewing machine and sewing kit. She was flabbergasted ! Now the two of us are going to have to learn to sew together as I have no idea what to do! I see a sewing machine for dummies book coming to our house soon! hahaaha! I might have to ask my Mother-in law Janie for some help and pointers if I can’t figure it out on my own. If it were summer I would go over there all day but during the school year she is busy homeschooling the kids during the week.
I have also been busy trying to get all my Women of Today stuff together for our next meeting. I submitted what I could to the newsletter and now I have a couple articles to write for the newspaper, I need to make a couple fliers. Our President Robin arranged for us to have a Zumba instructor come and have a presentations and program at our March meeting, it should be a lot of fun and hopefully we can get a few possible new members to come as well! Our membership has been a tragedy this year and we need to do something quick. I am the membership VP this year and I totally feel defeated, only because I am super hard on myself and I had such high expectations of increasing our numbers and retaining as many members as I could. FAIL! We signed 2 new members and if my sister decides to join that would be 3 total, and I think there have been 7 non-renewals this year (april-april) Oh well, we have a few meetings left and a couple socials, hopefully we can get people excited and find some new members!
So today I grabbed me camera and started messing around with settings and different functions.  I may not be a professional but I think I got some pretty cute pictures, trust me a lot were left on the cutting room floor! This post is getting a little long so ta ta for now, and enjoy the pictures!
